A Georgia state senator is looking to mimic the success of Washington and Colorado and bring fully legalized marijuana to the Peach state. Democratic senator Curt Thompson is hoping to bring recreational retail shops to fruition as well as a medical marijuana program for conditions like cancer, glaucoma, and HIV/AIDS. Don’t get too excited though – the proposal was only recently submitted and won’t be ready for a vote until 2015 at earliest. Thompson submitted two proposals: Resolution 6, which would amend the State consitution to allow for recreational marijuana; and Bill 7, which would allow doctors to prescribe medical marijuana. I got my fingers crossed for you Georgia – get er done!!
