FORT WALTON BEACH – A man allowed an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy to enter his residence to speak with him. When the deputy came inside, he said he found drug paraphernalia lying in plain view, plus potted marijuana growing in the kitchen and bags of marijuana in the bedroom.
The man’s arrest report didn’t say why the deputy wanted to speak with 20-year-old Mafouz Hamid Al-Bishah, but indicated that when the deputy stepped inside his Reeves Street residence he saw a glass smoking pipe and water bong on the coffee table in the living room.
In the kitchen he found a cup with marijuana plants growing in it, the report indicated.
In the bedroom he found two plastic bags with a “green, leafy substance” inside that was consistent with marijuana.
Al-Bishah allegedly said he put the seeds in the kitchen cup to “see what would happen.”
He was charged with producing marijuana, marijuana possession and drug equipment possession.
His plea date is Nov. 26.
