Trevon Blueitt…blew it. The best player in the NCAA tournament not named Sindarious Thornwell was popped with just over a zip in Indiana. He was charged with marijuana possession.
The incident shook out yesterday afternoon when Blueitt’s Chevy Impala was caught going 75 in a 55 and didn’t signal a lane change. He was also black in Indiana, which led to:
During the stop, officers smelled a “strong odor” of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers determined Bluiett had about 30 grams in his possession, a Class B misdemeanor, according to the release.
Bluiett was transported to Hamilton County Jail for processing, and bond was set at $1,000. [Indy Star]
Because using cops time is best used sending a future NBA player to jail for having an ounce of weed. And Indiana wonders why its basketball team sucks. If you arrest players in your state for smoking weed, no one in their right mind is going to choose an Indiana school when you can ball in Cali or Colorado easily.
As for Blueitt, he probably didn’t blow that much. He’s somehow only projected as a very late second round draft pick in this years NBA draft.
If he stays in school, Blueitt could likely enter the first round and the player of the year conversation. And learn how to not get busted rolling around with weed.
