Maine-iacs rejoice: marijuana is officially legal! Any ages 21+ can now legally carry up to 2.5 zips of weed–and can grow six flowering plants and 12 non-flowering plants.

If you’re in the Maine area, the celebration of this newfound freedom will be held at The Gold Room in Portland, Maine for “The End of Prohibition” party.

While Maine may be a little state, the Northeast pot spot has some serious gas–lead by the homie Cookie Maine:

But it’s not all fun n games for businessmen looking to make an imprint in Maine. You can only apply for a dispensary license if you’ve been a caregiver in the longtime medical state for at least five years.

And you know what? I’m cool with that. That means the people in this for the long haul and for the right reasons will be rewarded for being in on this well before it was chic and legal to get into the weed game.

Cause that’s how it should be. Sadly, in states like Colorado and beyond, big marijuana has already invaded.
